While
you were out. |

This
truly was one of the most rewarding projects that I had the
opportunity of doing. My client called to notify me that his
wife was taking a week long trip, and in that time he wanted
to give her the gift of remodeling their bedroom. He explained
it to me as the "Master Retreat", a place to escape
and relax. I envisioned a warm welcoming room. A room that
was luxurious, enticing, and mostly a scene setting where
one could feel comfortable.

We
chose, based on my client's tastes, a classical/ Spanish baroque
theme with the color palette of red and gold. With in one week
and very little sleep for my client we managed to paint the
room, select the bedding, accessories, lighting etc... all in
time for her early return home. The best part of this project
was the estatic phone call I received from her the following
Monday thanking me for her new wonderful room! |

A
little bit of everything.

After
being with a local design firm for two months, I met my first
true clients. They were a couple who had just moved to the
Tucson area and needed some assistance with revamping their
new home. I happened to be lucky enough to be the one to receive
their call and the pleasure of having a lengthy client-designer
relationship with a wonderful couple.

We
started with the windows, she wanted the traditional look of
shutters throughout the home. We then moved on to updating the
kitchen with granite countertops, new appliances , and adding
hardware to the cabinetry. After that we tackled paint colors
for the entire house and the placement of some of their artwork
creating themed rooms such as the Western Bedroom and
Southwest bathroom. The final touches were the addition
of new lighting for the |

two
dining areas, selecting a new table for the break-fast area,
reupholstering some beautiful antique pieces, and final placement
of furnishing and accessories. This was a long and enduring
project and at many times I am sure my clients thought I had
become a permanent fixture at their home, but in the end it
was a successful and worthwhile completion.
